  • Question: Clearing the cache

    Answer:

Clearing the cache in Internet Explorer 6

    How to do it:

When viewing the Internet, web browsers save text information and images locally to your computer of web sites that you frequent. This allows the web site to be displayed as quick as possible and prevents the download of the same images over and over again.

However, this can sometimes cause pages to update incorrectly or not display at all. If you need to clear your browser cache, follow these steps:

    1. Open Internet Explorer.

    2. From the top menu, click "Tools > Internet Options".

    3. Click the "General" tab.

    4. Under "Temporary Internet Files", click the "Delete Files" button.

    5. Click the "OK" button.

    6. Your cursor will change from a pointer to an hourglass. It may take a couple of minutes for the cache to be completely cleared out.

    7. Once your pointer returns, click "OK".

    8. Attempt to view the web page again.
